This weekend we went to a friend’s house and we came home much later than we had planned. When this happens, we try to get the boys to fall asleep in the car so we can transfer them without much fanfare (otherwise it becomes an over-tired free-for-all).
I had seen on FB News that you could see Mars without a telescope so we set off on an adventure to find it. I wasn’t sure that we were going to see it since it was cloudy but I thought if we looked long enough, either we would see something cool or the boys would fall asleep *WIN-WIN!*
We have an app that you can point to the sky and it will map out all the stars, planets and constellations so it was easy to figure out where we should be looking.
After about 15 minutes of driving around waiting for the clouds to clear, we saw Mars!
The boys were so excited that they could barely contain themselves. It was the cutest thing I had seen in a long time. Once they were satisfied that our mission was accomplished, they settled in and fell asleep.
Although I didn’t think we’d actually see anything and it took longer than I had hoped it turned into this really special moment that I’m certain the boys will remember for as long as they live.
* These moments are what make life worth living.
* These experiences are only ever achieved when you open yourself up to fun and adventure.
* These adventures are the cornerstone of happiness.
What adventure can you go on today?
